Leading up to the 2022 Municipal Election, the City of Hamilton wants to ensure that we do all we can to meet this obligation and provide our citizens with access to vote.
To help meet this goal, Elections staff are bringing two engagement opportunities ahead of Election Day:
Voter experience survey: Your feedback will help us benchmark what processes need enhanced communication and outreach. There are also opportunities for written feedback; community members are encouraged to share their experiences.
Suggest a voting location: We welcome your suggestions for voting locations (also known as polls).
We recognize not everyone has access to a digital survey, as such, we have made surveys available in-person at all Municipal Service Centres and branches of the Hamilton Public Library(External link), to ensure as many prospective voters have the opportunity to complete the survey as possible. The survey closes November 29, 2021.

In the past 18 months, I have sent out two documents to residents about the municipal parking bylaw that prohibits vehicles from encroaching or blocking driveways. The city’s parking bylaw ensures that all vehicles must be parked in a manner that clears any driveway approach by 45 cm or 18 inches. Vehicles that are parked within 45cm of a driveway approach can be ticketed. Any vehicle physically blocking a driveway can be towed at the owners expense which could be hundreds of dollars.
I wish to advise residents that tickets are being issued. Please be considerate of your neighbours.
The Terrapure Community Liaison Committee (CLC) was established to engage with and create open lines of communication with community members interested in the SCRF. The committee is comprised of citizen members from the local community surrounding the facility, representatives of Terrapure, the City of Hamilton and the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation, and Parks (MECP).
The specific mandate of the CLC and the means through which it is to be fulfilled can be found in the official Terms of Reference for the CLC, as outlined in the facility’s Environmental Compliance Approval. The committee receives updates on a quarterly basis to discuss operational and other issues related to the Stoney Creek Regional Facility (SCRF). Any committee member can call a CLC meeting to discuss an issue.

As of September 22, 2021 at 12:01 am, Ontario residents will need to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, along with proof of identification to access certain businesses.
Higher-risk public settings where proof of vaccination is required:
Indoor areas of restaurants, bars, and other food and drink establishments without dance facilities (including dine-in indoor food courts, breweries, wineries)
Indoor and outdoor areas of food or drink establishments with dance facilities, including nightclubs and restaurants, clubs and other similar establishments
Indoor areas of meeting and event spaces (including banquet halls, conference and convention centres)
Indoor areas of facilities used for sports and recreational fitness activities, including waterparks, and personal physical fitness training with limited exemptions
Includes gyms, fitness/sporting/recreational facilities, pools, leagues, sporting events, waterparks, and indoor areas of facilities where spectators watch events
Indoor areas of casinos, bingo halls, and other gaming establishments
Indoor areas of concert venues, theatres, and cinemas
Indoor areas of bathhouses, sex clubs and strip clubs
Indoor areas of horse racing tracks, car racing tracks and other similar venues
Indoor areas where commercial film and TV productions take place with studio audiences.
All other public health measures remain in effect such as masking, capacity limits, screening, physical distancing and contact tracing, as required.
Overnight closures on portion of Rymal Rd E and Regional Rd 56 beginning Monday
HAMILTON, ON – To safely complete road resurfacing, a series of intermittent road closures will take place during the overnight hours along Rymal Rd E and Regional Rd 56 and surrounding areas beginning Monday, September 20 at 8 p.m. for approximately four nights.
In order to limit traffic disruption, work will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night and will wrap up by Friday, September 24 at 6 a.m.
Dates for the work are weather permitting. Details including road closure limits and timing can be found at hamilton.ca/roadclosures.
Motorists and cyclists should follow signs for detour where posted and may experience minor delays.
