Encampment Charter Challenge Court Decision Released by Justice Ramsay

Justice James Ramsay has released his decision regarding the Charter Challenge of the City of Hamilton’s no camping in parks bylaw and encampment protocol. While I am pleased to receive the Court’s decision, I shall refrain from opining on the decision or its ramifications as I am cognizant that the decision can be appealed with a deadline period of thirty days to January 22, 2025.

Coyote Alert Valley Park Area

My office has received communications with pictures about coyote sightings in and around the multi-use pathway in Valley Park, along the creek. Coyotes are usually timid animals around people but they can be attracted by dogs running off leash. So, please keep your dogs on a leash and children close by your sides. We have alerted the city and the Hamilton Conservation Authority. SIgns will be posted shortly. We have attached an article titled, “Living with Coyotes”.
