Privately-Initiated Secondary Plan Application

The in-person open house details are as follows:

Comments on the application can be e-mailed to elfridasecondaryplan@hamilton.ca by June 18,2026 or shared with City staff at the open houses noted above. A Statutory Public Meeting at Planning Committee will be held August 25, 2026 at 9:30am. Register for our mailing list here to stay up to date on this project.

If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to reach out to elfridasecondaryplan@hamilton.ca. the actual urban boundary expansion hearings with the Twenty Road hearing is underway. The Elfrida urban boundary expansion hearing is set to be heard in January 2027.

The province also gave landowners the right to file privately initiated secondary plans with the municipalities. Oddly enough while the OLT has yet to decide the land needs assessment nor the privately initiated urban boundary expansion plans, landowners may file secondary planning applications on the same lands.
