Toys for Tickets – Got a parking ticket? Turn it into a gift for a child in need this holiday season.

The City’s Toys for Tickets program is back!

From December 1st to 5th, 2025, individuals who receive parking tickets can choose to pay their fine by donating a new, unwrapped toy of equal or greater value.

All donated toys will support families in our community through United Way Halton and Hamilton.

Key Information

  • The City of Hamilton’s Toys for Tickets program is back December 1st to 5th, 2025!
  • Turn your City-issued parking ticket into a gift by donating a new, unwrapped toy of equal or greater value.
  • Drop off the toy with receipt at 80 Main St. W. (at Summers Lane) from December 1st to 5th, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Only toys dropped off during these times will be accepted.
  • Only parking penalties issued by the City are eligible for this program. Other fines, such as for speeding or red-light violations, are not included.

Below are some key frequently asked questions you may have.


When will my street be plowed?

  • Roads are plowed based on priority. The first priority is main routes and escarpment crossings. The second priority is collector roads and the third priority is neighbourhood streets.

Why does the number of plows differ from day to day?

  • Vehicles appear on the map only when they are moving. Parked vehicles will not be displayed.

Who can I contact for further information?

  • You can contact the Customer Contact Centre at 905-546-2489 and they will direct your call.

Why do the vehicles keep going up and down the same street?

  • The City works to maintain the levels of service. Roads are cleared on a priority basis and continue to be travelled until that service level is met.

Frozen Meals on Wheels Program for Seniors

Frozen Meals on Wheels –Serving Hamilton Mountain Residents!

Glanbrook Community Services (GCS) is proud to offer Frozen Meals on Wheels to residents living on the Hamilton Mountain. Each meal is $7.50 and includes a main entrée and two healthy sides.

Meals are delivered every Thursday to Binbrook and Hamilton. Clients can choose from 35 different entrées, soups, and desserts on a five-week rotation, with options that are low in salt, gluten-free, vegetarian, pureed, and diabetic-friendly. Meals can also be picked up directly from our office and kept frozen for up to six months.

To make the program as accessible as possible, GCS has simplified the application process and uses the Government of Canada’s Low-Income Cut-Off (LICO) guidelines to determine subsidy eligibility.

Orders can be placed online (with an email confirmation) or by phone by Wednesdays at 3:00 p.m.

City of Hamilton’s 2026 Budget Public Engagement

As part of the City of Hamilton’s 2026 Budget process, we are launching a series of public engagement opportunities to provide residents with information about the budget planning process, how programs and services are prioritized, and an opportunity to share their priorities to help guide planning for the 2026 Budget.

From September 15th to October 10th, 2025, residents are encouraged to participate in the following public engagement opportunities:

  • In-Person or Virtual Budget Engagement Session: Residents will learn about the budget planning process, how programs and services are prioritized, have the opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions.
  • 2026 Budget Survey: Residents can participate in our budget survey where they will be asked about what matters most to them and their community, either online or in-person at the sessions.
  • Engage Hamilton: Residents can go online to Engage Hamilton and take part in our online survey, explore a variety of interactive tools including our Balancing Act Budget Tool and take quick polls.
  • Direct Feedback Form: Residents can provide direct feedback using our online form or at an in-person session.
