Eramosa Karst Wetland Construction

As part of the development of the Central Park Subdivision and the associated eco-corridor connecting the Mount Albion Conservation Area to the Eramosa Karst Conservation Area, a wetland was proposed to be restored and enhanced at the southeast corner of Highland Road and Upper Mount Albion within the Eramosa Karst Conservation Area.

The HCA entered into an External Works Agreement with Losani Homes to facilitate the construction of the wetland at Losani Homes’ cost. Construction was delayed ensuring upstream areas had been developed and revegetated and to avoid sedimentation in the proposed wetland. With this largely completed, construction on the wetland began in early August. Losani Homes has hired the contractor to complete the work, and the work is being monitored by GeoProcess Consulting Ltd.  HCA staff are also monitoring the work.
