City of Hamilton – 2025 Tree Giveaway Program

Each spring, the City of Hamilton’s Forestry Section offers Hamilton residents small native tree or shrub species to plant in their backyards.

Pre-registration is required. One tree or shrub per property, approximately one meter tall, are available. Residents must present a driver’s license or property tax bill upon pick up.

Homeowners are responsible for planting, watering, and maintaining the tree or shrub.

Tree Giveaway events run on April 26^th, May 10^th, and May 31^st, 2025, at Bayfront Park, and May 3^rd and May 24^th, 2025, at Mohawk College from 8:00am – 12:00pm. Events happen rain or shine.
